Graduation speech

Congratulations everyone, students, teachers, parents. We finally completed our four years at Golf, but we couldn't have possibly done that without everyone's help and support. When we visited this school for the first time in 4th grade and thought "Woah, this schools huge." As we grew together, the school we go to became smaller and smaller but our connection with each other became stronger and stronger. The smartest students could have never made it through these four years without the support the people in our lives gave us. I remember the first time we stepped foot in this school as official 5th graders in August. We were all excited to be in a new school with all our friends. Being able to walk among the tall eighth graders without the teachers leading us to our next class, it was the best feeling ever. Just having that type of freedom made me excited to go to school everyday. After 5th grade I realized that now we were responsible for what happens next in our lives.

Having our parents and friends support us these four years was one of the big things that helped us get passed middle school. So in honor of the, I would like to say thanks for being there for us when we were in difficult situations like having a paper due the next day when you just started or helping us get the supplies we need for our projects. Mostly being just being there for us was the best thing they could do for us. Parents and friends weren't the only ones who helped us. Teachers devoted most of their day at school helping us with homework, giving us the knowledge we needed for PARCC and finals. They could've been at home with their own children and family, but they chose to deal with us so we are very grateful for that.

Being in Golf has been a great experience partly because of the people that go there. Most of us have been together since our days at Hynes. The first day of 6th grade was when I felt the bit of freedom of being able to walk with my friends to the next class, while having huge 8th graders pass us in the halls. Each year we went through prepared us for the next coming years. In 6th grade we learned greek and latin roots. They were really annoying to learn because of how often and many there were. Once we got to 8th grade we realized how much we needed to learn them. In 8th grade we're suppose to be the top dogs of this school, but once high school starts it all resets again. So we made the best of this school year.

The time has come where we have to close this chapter in our life, but closing it doesn't mean forgetting about. We will always remember the moments we had here at Golf, some good some bad. Our memories here will never fade away because this is where we formed those great friendships that kept us going. We all deserve the best in our lives, but that depends on the decisions we make and hopefully we will still be around to support each other.
